Healing the Soul - 2016, Kandivali (3 Days)

On Date: 18 April 2016
Activity: Moral & Spirituals
Location: Mumbai Locationwise

So that, the muktas/sadhakas, youths of Ghanashyam Pradesh can get an appropriate/required guidance to proceed on their path of spirituality, P. Brahmavihariswami had organized a workshop, “Healing the Soul”, for 3 days between 16 Apr 2016 to 18 Apr 2016 in Atmiya Welfare and Cultural Center at Kandivali (East) in Mumbai in the presence of regional saint leader P. Bhaktipriyaswami. “It is a universally well-known fact that, now a days, it is found that, our hearts, minds and intellects are more affected by diseases of various wrong/bad/undesirable polluted thinking as compared to the diseases of our bodies and it is more widely spread and destructive and hence, badly require urgent treatment” was the subject matter of this workshop and was discussed/explained during the 4 sessions of this 3 day workshop of which, around 600 ladies and gents from different suburbs of Mumbai had taken advantage.

In this workshop, everybody had watched an audio visual presentation prepared by P.Brahmavihariswami on the life and works, the philosophy of all the Gunatit persons right from Lord Swaminarayan up to Guruhari P.P. Hariprasadswamiji. This presentation which was prepared with lot of hard work and pain, contained the uniqueness, specialities and the strangeness along with the drawbacks deeply hidden in the hearts and minds of human beings and how to find them out and how to remove them was shown and, it contained the relevant examples and the scientific facts/realities along with reliable figures also. This was presented accompanied by a relevant speech also which made it very easy to understand it.

The points of discussion were :-

The 1st session. (16 Apr 2016, 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm in the night).

In this session, the points like Laziness, Childishness, Credulous, Outward sightedness and Equal-ness were discussed.

• Laziness means disgust felt in doing any work. While explaining as to how it can be avoided, it was said that, by the clarity of goal and the friendliness with persistent, it can be avoided.

• Childishness means, wasting time and energy without properly understanding the seriousness of the work. By giving the control to the bhagavadis and knowing the glory of whom we are working for, the childishness automatically goes away.

• Credulous means not knowing the difference between good & bad. To remove this, the relation of open heartedness with saints and bhagvadis is essential.

• Outward sightedness means, to notice the drawbacks of others and ignore the own. This can be cleared by constantly remembering the goal and memorizing the spiritual talks.

• Equal-ness means, no respect for elders, can’t accept the equals, and living with a notion that I know everything. This can be overcome by constantly thinking of incidents of Dasatva of Gunatit persons.

2nd Session. (17 Apr 2016, 9:30 am to 11:30 am).

In this session, the points like over-wise-ness, lust, avarice, life pleasing the mind and obstinacy were discussed.

• Over-wise-ness means, to criticize, to exhibit own self. To get rid of these, we must pray to develop the incidents of politeness from the life of Gunatit persons within us and do bhajan to give us the strength for the same.

• Lust means desire to enjoy the women. He explained the minute secret that, it is due to the desires of publicity, wealth and children. To get rid of this, we shouldn’t remain free, should stick to principles and should take the proper food.

• The sense of greed means, unwillingness to utilize money for God or His disciples. To get rid of this, we should properly know the glory of satpurush/real/divine persons and, as per Gunatitanandswami’s talk, we should always try to think of the beginning and the end of everything, then, we won’t be carried away by fascination and we will get rid of greed.

• Life pleasing the mind means, working/acting only to please the mind, do only whatever the mind says/desires. As per the talk, “It is best to do whatever the saint says...” if we act totally as per the desires/commands of our bhagvadies, they gradually start twisting our mind and make it living in God.

• Obstinacy means, to stick to/catch any wrong thing and deal with it as the right one. If we pray for help/strength by memorizing the incidents of simplicity of Gunatit persons, our sense of obstinacy will go.

3rd Session (18 Apr 2016, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm).

In this session, P. Brahmavihariswami had talked on as to, what is the bhajan ? Why to do it ? How to do it ? and preparations to make for it.

• What is the bhajan? – it means to remember/chant the name of God, to meditate His idol or portrait, to admit own mistakes before Him, to think/speak of His glory and qualities.. to establish a link between us and the God, it means total surrender.

• Uninterrupted bhajan means what? – the savikalpa bhajan means our link is connected (mind goes) somewhere else except the God. And, while doing bhajan, no other thought except the of God, comes to mind and, it get totally lost in the bhagvatswaroop saint (Guruhari Swamiji), constantly remembering Him only and thinking of incidents related to God is uninterrupted bhajan.

• Why to do bhajan? – to get connected with God, for the purification of the internal heart/mind, to acquire the pleasure of God, to bear the strength of God and to acquire/obtain His qualities, to solidify the relation with God.

• While explaining “Connecting with the Supreme” he said that, while doing bhajan, we should think of the incidents of qualities like atmiyata, simplicity, suhradbhav, dasatva, servitude etc. of Lord Swaminarayan and the Gunatit persons.

  - Should think of various memories given by Guruhari Swamiji.

  - To do bhajan with the spirit of “Nijatmanam Brahmarupam......”

4th Session (18 Apr 2016, 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm).

In this session, he talked on 5 points, Ego, pride, envy, reserved nature and honesty (Sattvikta).

• Explaining ego and pride, he said that, he, who feels bad/gets displeased even in every small matter, keeps talking of unrelated matters and is to be handled with care is called proud.

• Talking about envy, he said that, not to bear the progress of others and tends to harm him, are the signs of envy. To get rid of this, we should think of good qualities of others, whom we envy, and to think of and praise their good qualities and should think that, if the God has given them these qualities, He will surely give me also the same qualities.

• Reserved nature (too calm or shy nature) means, speaks less than even required, doesn’t mix with all, doesn’t open his heart easily, keeps certain matters in heart only. To change all these, we have got to develop friendliness with the devotees with atmiya nature, have to understand the glory of other devotees, we have got to always try to mix with others.

• While explaining the signs of honesty (Sattvikta), he said that, to take note of every action by others, keep doubting, giving uncalled-for opinions that, one should do this and not this, this is right and this is wrong, this can be tolerated and not this, all these are the signs of nature with honesty. For removing it, we should give authority to our bhagvadis to stop us from doing so even by scolding us as and when required.

Thus, at the end of these 3 days of the workshop, all the devotees of entire Ghanashyam Pradesh had acquired the required ability to understand their own shortcomings, defects, natures, faults etc. and also had got a key to remove/alter theme, which were the obstacles to them on their path of journey of spirituality.

The regional saint leaders P. Bhaktipriyaswami, P. Haripriyaswami, P. Sadhupriyaswami, P. Satyaswarupswami and the regional president P.B. Shashikantbhai Vora, P.B. Khushalbhai Kawa, P.B. Vinodbhai Patel, P.B. Dr. Upendra Patel, P.B. Manibhai Hariya and around 600 other gents, ladies and the youths remained present in the entire workshop and took the best advantage of it.
