Nearly 2000 devotees of Lord Swaminarayan Satsang Mandal from Dabhoi and its surrounding areas accompanied the saint leaders P. Shreejicharanswami and P. Niravswami from Shrihari Ashram, Haridham (Sokhada) in attending the 6th Chariot Procession of Lord Shri Jagannathji’s Shashthi organized on Saturday, the 18th July 2015, the Ashathi Beej as per Hindu Calendar, at Dabhoi along with the religious minded people of Dabhoi village. Totally around 7000 devotees participated in this chariot procession.

The chariot procession means an occasion, a festival celebration day on which, the devotees place Lord Jagannathji, Baldevji and Subhadraji in a chariot and take them around the entire town on Ashadhi Beej as per Indian Gujarati Calendar. On this occasion Pujyapad Sri Sri 1008 Sri Sudarshanacharyaji Maharaj, Sri Badrinarayan Mandir Trust and Sri Nairutyadham Trust, Dabhoi had jointly organized this program of chariot procession constantly for the 6th year. Between 8.30 am & 11.00 am in the morning, Shahashtradharabhishek was done on Lord Sri Jagannathji. Then, at 11.30 am sri Jagannathji was placed/seated in the chariot after performing a Maha Arti before Him.

By 3.00 pm, the chariot procession began/started from Badrinarayan Temple and passed the areas like Balavirhanuman temple, Sri Ramji temple, Tower chowk, Lal Bazar, Uncha Timba, Choksi Bazar, Sri Dwarkadhishji Temple, Kansara Bazar, Sri Sheshnarayan Temple and Vadodari Precinct, Bhagol and had again reached the Badrinarayan Temple. The residents of the city warmly and gorgeously received and welcomed the procession at every crossing. All the devout participated and took part in pulling the ropes of the chariot during the procession and expressed/presented their devotion.

Different institutions sang their devotional songs to join with the tune of the main instruments played during the procession.

The real attraction/symbol of this procession was the spirit of equality and unity of all the religions. The saints and sadhvis of every religion from around the city had participated in this procession. At the end of the procession, around 7000 devotees had taken the Prasad/consecrated food.

In this procession Shree Aksharpurushottam Mandir-Haridham-Sokhada-Vadodara, Prajapita Brahmakumarisanshtha, Swadhyay Pariwar, Pushtimargi Vaishnavparishad, Vaishnav Sangathan, Sri Gayatri Parivar, Brahma Samaj, Satkaivals Sindhi Samaj, Rana Samaj, Kachhia Samaj, Patel Samaj, Suthar Samaj, Panchal Samaj and many other institutions also participated to express their devotion.
